NIKE BOOK 1 follows the design concept of simplifying, combining wearing aesthetics with actual performance. It can fit with many different outfits. In this issue, we take a look at the internal construction and design details of the BOOK 1 by deconstructing it.

Deconstructed Report:

Upper: The upper is made of retro type leather. The overall strength is good. Both sides of shoe body is made of fabric material, which is a little soft and the strength is not good.

Midsole: It has full-length Cushlon, arch TPU stabilizing plate and U shape ZOOM AIR cushion on the heelpiece. The outboard midsole is covered by rubber and plastic material.
Overall, NIKE BOOK 1 is a pair of nice basketball shoes and casual shoes. It goes great with a lot of different outfits.

Unboxing & Closed Look: NIKE BOOK 1

NIKE for Devin Booker (Devin Booker) launched the first generation of signature shoes BOOK 1. Its retro casual appearance also make people have more interest in this shoe. Let’s look at the details of NIKE BOOK 1 today.

NIKE BOOK 1 follows the design concept of simplifying, combining wearing aesthetics with actual performance.

It is smaller than standard size, and the shoe head has obvious pressure on the big toe. After tying the shoelaces, the overall package is moderate, and the heel foam padding is comfortable. Simply run and jump, you can clearly feel the feedback of the ZOOM AIR cushion on the heel.
If you want a pair of basketball shoes and stylish causal shoes, NIKE Book 1 will be a good choice.

Unbox: Supreme x Nike Air Max Dn

No matter what era, any shoes with Air Max cushion are like being given magic, making people eager to try and become the enlightenment of countless Sneakerhead shoes.

The Air Max Day is coming. Nike presents the Air Max Dn with the new Dynamic Air technology, showing us the evolutionary results of the “cushion-technology revolution”.

Today we unbox the Supreme x Nike Air Max Dn and share the details with you. How does the new Dynamic Air cushion feel on your feet?

The appearance continues the Air Max family’s consistent smooth contour and the classic mode of opening the rear window.

However, the window opening shape of the Air cushion is very intuitive different from our common Air Max shoes!

The Dynamic Air technology consists of four tubular Nike Air bag structures extended by two air chambers, with the injection of Phylon foam for additional cushioned filling of the midsole.

The two rear airbags have a higher pressure of 15psi, and the two front airbags have a lower pressure of 5psi, thus achieving a more accurate cushioning performance.

We can see ‘SUPREME’ from the air cushion.

The upper part of the shoe adopts similar silicone texture lines with modern textile fabric.

The hidden large SUPREME logo is infused with 3M reflective properties, which has a more distinct recognition.

The outsole has been specially designed for zoning, and the pattern is more complex to cope with the daily and diverse grip needs.

The appearance contains the unique technological sense of Air Max Dn.

The new Dynamic Air is different from the soft VaporMax, preferring a supported spring, especially when the heel is pressed on the second and third air bags.

At first, it feels nothing when standing, but after wearing it for half a day, you can feel the cushioned feedback of the top bounce on the air cushion more and more obvious.

And because the Dynamic Air covers a larger area and is thicker than normal Air Max 1 cushion, the cushion is more noticeable.

Unboxing: adidas Harden Vol.8

At the first sight of Harden Vol. 8, I thought it’s similar as Harden Vol. 7, as the overall outline and structure is almost the same.

But after testing, I found that the material and structure of Harden Vol. 8 have been upgraded a lot. It reinforces the defects of Harden Vol. 7.

The shoe head design of Harden Vol. 8 is the same as Harden Vol. 7. But the material is softer.

The anti-rollover structure of forefoot midsole is also the same as Harden Vol. 7. There is a big piece of black rubber extends to the outsole, which is also one of the symbolic designs.

The biggest change and upgrade in the appearance, is the huge annular rubber structure of the upper, forming a unique shape exclusive to Harden Vol.8.

Since it occupies such a large area of the shoe body, the strength and toughness of this circle of rubber are adjusted just right, and when the shoelace is fastened, it is like a palm which holding your foot.

Combined with this multi-layer ankle shoe design, each part of the foot is firmly locked, making the shoe unity of Harden Vol.8 more outstanding than that of the 7th generation.

As with the previous generation, although it is a signature shoe, but the shoe body does not have much design to highlight Harden’s personal elements, even the signature is hidden on the shoe-pad.

Compared with the change of the 7th generation, it is still obvious that the exposed design of the TPU anti-torsion plate is canceled, but it’s hidden in the inside of the outsole rubber, and its shape can be faintly seen through the translucent material.

The outsole pattern is cleverly integrated into the Harden ‘H’, and the circle around it is the most classic and most durable herringbone pattern. Looking at the depth of this pattern, it should be durable.

The rear opening window has changed from the three-bar shape of the previous generation to a circular shape, and the interior is filled with full-length JETBoost.

Although it uses the same technology configuration as last generation, but it remodels the drop height and the thickness of material.

The forefoot sole of Harden Vol.8 is thicker than Harden Vol.7. The drop height is small. It’s more solid and elastic.

Adidas Harden Vol.8 will be released on February 15.

In addition to this model, the follow-up will also be launched in black green, flamingo, black  white red and other colors.

Adidas Trae 3 Performance Review

NBA Hawks’ star Trae Young’s third generation of signature shoes adidas Trae 3 officially debuted this month.As the defender, the orientation of Trae Young’s shoes is speediness and stability. The Configuration of Adidas 4DFWD 3 & SWITCH FWD

Adidas is committed to exploring the infinite possibilities of combining technology with running shoes. Adidas changed the traditional running shoes’ design concept, using exclusive black technology. This summer, Adidas released two technologies’ running shoes, including the revolutionary running shoe which using 3D printing 4DFWD 3, and the new released SWITCH FWD. The two ‘new species’ in the field of running shoes have made a new interpretation of the propulsion of running shoes by different midsole materials, bringing subversive propulsion pleasure to runners at every step and showing a unique leaping experience.

The adidas 4DFWD series keep using the innovated technology. Its BOWTIE midsole design is developed by collaborating with Silicon Valley technology company. Carbon uses 3D printing technology. NIKE ZOOM G.T. CUT 2 PERFORMANCE REVIEW

G.T. means Greater Than

The G.T. series shoes were born on 2021. It’s mainly to cope with the new generation of changing playing style to make adjustments. ZOOM G.T. CUT series has also launched the second generation, the configuration and material have been adjusted, now take a look at the difference of ZOOM G.T. CUT & ZOOM G.T. CUT 2.

Cushion Performance:

Both of CUT 1 & CUT 2 uses React shoe-pad, full-length Zoom Strobel and ZOOM AIR cushion on the shoe heel. The difference is on the details.

The React shoe-pad of CUT 1 & CUT 2 is almost the same. The main difference is in the curvature of the front buckling. CUT 2 is more tilted, like a running shoe, which is more conducive to running, while CUT 1 is closer to the ground and can feel the ground better.

The Zoom Air cushion of CUT 1 is lecotropal, and it’s on the bottom layer and above outsole. While the Zoom Air cushion of CUT 2 is hexagon, and it’s inserted in the React shoe-pad.

The ZOOM AIR of CUT 2 is closed to the heel. The size of hexagon ZOOM AIR is not big.

The ZOOM Strobel of CUT 1 is under the shoe-pad. It doesn’t have insole fabric under the shoe-pad. And there is a layer of insole fabric above ZOOM STROBEL of CUT 2. So the ZOOM AIR feedback of CUT 1 is more obvious than CUT 2.

Comfort Level:

The shoe-tongue would affect the comfort level. The shoe-tongue of CUT 1 cover the whole instep perfectly. And it has holes to fix the shoelaces to avoid the shoe-tongue moving. The shoe-tongue of CUT 2 is narrow, and it doesn’t have hole to fix the shoe-tongue.

After fastening the shoelaces, the shoe-tongue doesn’t move, but as the shoe-tongue is narrow, it can’t cover the whole shoe-tongue.

The texture of shoe-pad also affects the comfort level. The texture is the key point. The material of CUT 1 shoe-pad has good friction. And the half-sole has extra wave pattern to prevent the feet moving in the shoes. But it’s a little hard to put on after wearing the socks. The surface of CUT 2 shoe-pad is smoother, it’s easier to put on and take off.

Traction Performance:

Both of CUT 1 and CUT 2 outsole pattern is big nicks. The blue position of CUT 2 outsole uses Smear Traction 1.0, which improve the traction performance.

The shoe heel outsole pattern of CUT 2 is in small triangle.

Both of CUT 1 & CUT 2 are speeding type basketball shoes. CUT 1 is closer to the ground, the feedback of half-sole is better. It can help you to speed up.

CUT 2 likes a pair of running shoes. It’s suitable for running. If you need to run a short distance on a fast break or defend, it will be comfortable by wearing CUT 2.

Stability:

The half-sole of CUT 1 & CUT 2 are wide, the main difference is the heelpiece. The heelpiece of CUT 1 is a little narrow, the center of gravity is slightly outside. And the stabilizer of CUT 2 is covered well, it’s more stable. Due to the design of shoelaces’ holes, the fitness of CUT 1 is also better than CUT 2.

Overall:

The overall performance of CUT 1 is better than CUT 2. The main difference is the design of shoe-tongue and the insole fabric above the ZOOM Strobel.

But the upper material of CUT 2 is thinner than CUT 1, so the air permeability is better. The shoe heel stabilizer of CUT 2 is better. It’s the improvement of new version. CUT 2 needs time to break-in. We expect more new colorways of CUT 2.

The Performance Review of Jordan Tatum 1

Boston, which lost seven games in the Eastern Conference championship, failed to make history. Jayson Tatum is injured, but his Tatum 1 is definitely the one that we’ll have to see the actual performance.

I like the simple appearance of Tatum 1. It reminds me the Jordan models that Reggie Millers used to wear before.

Advantages:

  1. The cushion performance of forefoot sole is excellent, but the cushion performance of heelpiece is not good.

Tatum 1 as a pair of low price Jordan brand personal signature shoes, its cushioning unit is amazing to me, maybe my expectation for its performance is too low, after all, I personally don’t like the cushion performance of the same price of Luka 1.

?The Zoom air cushion of forefoot sole is excellent.

The Zoom air cushion of Tatum 1 forefoot sole is excellent. The resilience of ZOOM air cushion is excellent.  But it has small defects, the sole of the foot have a slight downward arc convex, it has a slight feeling of instability, but I am not affected too much when playing basketball.

The cushion performance of Tatum 1 shoe heel is worse. But fortunately I rarely don’t jump to the ground by shoe heel firstly. It doesn’t have big influence. If you jump to the ground by shoe heel firstly, you need to consider it well.

  1. Excellent traction performance. The abrasive resistance is not good.
    The outsole of Tatum 1 uses white water ripple pattern.The traction performance on plastic cement and woodfloor court are excellent. I’m satisfied at its traction performance. But the disadvantage is, it’s easy to absorb the dust.

After playing basketball games with Tatum 1 about 8 hours, it doesn’t have much abrasion. But it’s said that the durability of Tatum 1 is not good. The durability of Tatum 1 should be better than Kobe 4 Protro.

?It’s not as wear-resistant as I though.

Good Fitness & Support:

The vamp of Tatum 1 is made of ventilated nylon fabric. It has a little reinforcement on the shoelace and shoe head. The shoe heel is covered with leather. It’s light. I like the white blue colorway.

?It’s light, and the air permeability is good.

It’s a little big than standard size. I choose half size smaller. The shoe tree is a little narrow. It doesn’t have much padding. The padding of shoe tongue is not thick. My feet is narrow type, so it needs to fasten the shoelaces tightly, it can fit my feet well.

?The shoe heel is made of leather.

The supporting performance of Tatum 1 is not good. To reduce the weight, the material is soft and thinner. The overall strength is not good. Although the outsole extends to the upper, but the material is soft.

The sole has a bit of circular arc, so it’s unstable. And it doesn’t have anti-rollover design. The outsole is wide. You can feel that the lateral support is not so stable in lateral movement.  Although it’s not bad, but I don’t feel safe. Fortunately the shoe head is tilted, the starting speed is very fast.
?The anti-rollover performance is just ok.

The built-in TPU on the heelpiece is a little soft, but it’s enough. Tatum 1 mainly focus on the weight, not the supporting performance. The supporting performance of Tatum 1 is only passable.

Disadvantages:

The anti-rollover performance of half sole is just ok.The cushion performance of shoe heel is not good.

The outsole of half sole doesn’t have obvious anti-rollover design, so I didn’t feel safe when playing basketball games. It needs time to break-in.

Overall: 8.7 scores

Size: It’s a little bigger than standard size. I suggest to choose half size smaller. It’s better to try on physical store firstly.

There are many different feedback for the performance of Tatum 1 on the market. I think that Tatum 1 is unsuitable for most of people. It doesn’t have big disadvantages and advantages. But frankly I like to wear them to play basketball. Tatum 1 focus on the cushion performance of half-sole. The traction performance is excellent. The fitness and supporting performance is good. As the first pair of signature shoes of a young player, I think that Tatum 1 is ok, not bad, but it definitely can be improved. I expected the next pair of signature shoes of Jayson Tatum.
