Description
Synonymous with his sixth NBA Championship, Michael Jordan’s 13th signature silhouette has gone on to become one of the most routinely retro’d silhouettes from his historic on-court discography. Each season the panther-inspired sneaker assumes a series of OG and fresh colorways, most recently complimented by the “Playoffs”, “Black Flint” and “University Blue” efforts.
the pair sporting a white tumbled leather base with contrasting speckled “Yellow Ochre” mudguards and a black, pod-like midsole. Pale blue hues envelop the suede overlays and foam midsole, while a vibrant yellow pigment illuminates the Jumpman logo on the tongue, giving the sneaker a pop of colour. Inspired by a panther’s gleaming eyes, the shiny hologram on the ankle showcases the Jumpman logo and MJ’s iconic “23” jersey number.
the model features a carbon fibre shank plate for stability and Zoom Air cushioning in the heel and forefoot for responsive comfort, making the AJ13 one of the best Air Jordan Retros to play basketball in. Blacked-out Phylon foam pods resemble feline paws. The carbon fibre plate provides torsional support and stability, while the herringbone traction patterns deliver consistent grip on and off the playing court.
What year is Air Jordan 13?
The Air Jordan 13 is Michael Jordan’s thirteenth signature basketball shoe with NIKE, Inc. Originally released in 1997 during “The Last Dance,” the sneaker was designed by the legendary Tinker Hatfield.
the Air Jordan 13 draws inspiration from a black panther, which is reminiscent of MJ’s game. The outsole represents a panther’s paw while the hologram on the ankle represents their eyes.
Air Jordan Retro 13 features:
Design inspired by the speed and power of a panther, featuring a “cat eye” holographic Jumpman logo on the upper and paw-like outsole. Hidden speed-lacing system. Padded collar for plush feel. Phylon™ midsole with heel and forefoot Zoom Air™ units for lightweight and responsive cushioning.
The Air Jordan 13 is the last shoe MJ wore for a complete season with the Chicago Bulls. He would wear the 14 briefly in the NBA Finals and would later return to play for the Washington Wizards, but the 13 was the last shoe he would lace up for a season with the Bulls. In many ways, the 13 represents the end of an era.
