Description
The “Reverse Oreo” is a compelling tribute to the legendary Air Jordan 6 “Oreo” from 2010, maintaining the silhouette’s iconic structure while introducing a bright, alternate color scheme.
This Jordan 6 features an all-leather upper and perforated details near the midfoot and collar, sticking to the classic construction the model is known for. The pair arrives on par with the original Oreo release, save the all-white leather upper, which replaces 2010’s black nubuck paneling. The tongue and Jumpman logos are adorned in solid Black; Providing the “Oreo” effect is a white speckling that appears on the “eyeliner” of the sole as well as the rear pull-tab. The overall look is complemented by an icy translucent outsole, completing the design with finesse.
When did the Air Jordan 6 release?
Second to the Air Jordan 1, the Air Jordan 6 is still to this day one of the most popular silhouettes within the line-up.
Originally released in 1991 and it soon followed MJ into his first NBA Championship, the Air Jordan 6 was designed by Tinker Hatfield. They feature a visible Air unit in the heel as well as a translucent outsole, a molded back heel tab and set of lace locks.
The history behind the Air Jordan 6 is the reason why I love it so much. To me, the shoe will always be iconic as it was worn by Michael Jordan himself en route to his first NBA title.
Comfort:
The Air Jordan 6 may be one of the more uncomfortable retros in the Air Jordan line, I’ve always found them to be very firm underfoot, but the biggest pro of the silhouette is that they’re wide-foot friendly — something that I appreciate.
Fit:
Sizing wise, they fit relatively true to size. Some will get away with going half a size down because the sneaker has a roomy toe box.
Care:
Depending on the materials of the shoe, I care for my Air Jordan 6 sneakers the same way I would care for any other shoe. For suede or nubuck uppers, I use suede brushes and scrub the midsoles and outsoles with a standard shoe cleaning product.
