Description

Yoon Ahn — the head fashion designer of AMBUSH — honored the silhouette’s 40th anniversary by making subtle adjustments to its upper build. Her elongated Swoosh logos — which were seen on her assemblage of Dunk collaborations in the past — have made their return, this time being coated in a bold “Varsity Maize” hue.

This colorway of the AMBUSH x Nike Air Force 1 Low comes dressed in a Blue tumbled leather upper accompanied by the Yellow on the oversized Swoosh (similar to the AMBUSH Dunks) and heel tab. Additionally, the laces have been accessorized with a deubre that features a 3D “AF1” hit. Both options are completed with bottoms that match up with their base layer’s tumbled leather panels.

The story behind AMBUSH

It is impossible to imagine the sneaker scene today without the AMBUSH brand. The brand was founded by Yoon Ahn, a female designer from Tokyo. With her sleek designs and modern-looking designs, she has made her name inside and outside the sneaker scene and has big plans for the next years.

Yoon Ahn, born in South Korea, raised in Boston, and later living in Tokyo, has a broad resume. At a young age, she left for Tokyo to establish her own brand there. Without knowing the language, she moved to the metropolis and found her own way in combining streetwear and high-end fashion with AMBUSH.

Before the birth of her own brand, AMBUSH, Yoon Ahn worked as a jewelry designer. With eye-catching and hip-hop-inspired jewelry, her name quickly became a household name, and her work caught the eye of artists such as Pharrell Williams and Kanye West. After entering the hip-hop scene with her jewelry, things went fast and in 2008, together with Japanese rapper Verbal, she founded AMBUSH.

What is the difference between Nike Air Force 1 and AF1 low?

They are pretty much the same shoe. Only difference is the af1 has Air Force one spelled out instead of af1 on the shoe and the midsole is lower on originals.

Why are Air Force 1s so popular?

The classic yet stylish look, proportions, availability, comfort and wearability all factor into the Air Force 1s popularity. Air Force 1s look great with most casual outfits and have a rich history that appeals to sneaker fanatics

  1. Aha…This color is so attractive. I love the green and yellow colorway. The quality is also quite high. Good workmanship. The surface of shoe-pad is also made of leather. It’s very soft and comfortable. The height of heelpiece is a little high. The big yellow Swoosh logo is eye-catching. I choose one size smaller, it fits me well.

  2. The green vamp is decorated with big yellow Swoosh logo. It’s quite attactive. The leather is soft. Good material. It’s very comfortable. The shoe heel has AMBUSH logo. The shoe tree is a little narrow than other AF1. You should choose the same size as DUNK and AJ1.
