Description
This custom concept of the Nike Dunk Low hales from the people over at @nobrainer.psd in Japan. Inspired by the well-known Japanese anime Initial D, the pair arrives with a number of aged and deconstructed accents that have these looking like your favourite pair of OFF-WHITE Dunks. This pair of “Panda Trueno” certainly bears all the right storytelling details but getting your hands on a pair in 2023 might prove challenging.
Hitting the big screen on June 8, 1984, Ghostbusters went on to become one of the cultural phenomenons of the decade, combining comedy with a not-so-serious supernatural plot line. Following a trio of eccentric parapsychologists who excel in the ghost-catching business in New York City, the franchise has spawned sequels, spinoffs and, thankfully, sneakers.
While the follow-ups to the films have been hit or miss, the footwear has been nothing short of spook-tacular.
Using the general release pairs of the Nike Dunk Low Sail Black as a base, the customisation arrives through various painted panels and additional text. The upper features white leather panels and Red logo. On the lateral front toe sits “who ya gonna call”, a reference to performed the theme song to the 1984 film Ghostbusters. details include the oversized Swoosh similar to the AMBUSH Dunks, with the Ghostbusters Logo printed just below, channelling that Virgil-esque design language. As a final touch, the back of the midsole bears the specific number plate, adding another playful reference to the custom pair.
Are dunks or SB dunks more comfortable?
Are Dunks Or SB Dunks More Comfortable? An older SB Dunk can be more comfortable than a regular (non-SB) Dunk. Modern Dunk and SB Dunk releases tend to be stiffer right out of the box. As such, modern regular Dunks are more accommodating than their SB counterparts
Dunk vs SB Dunk: What’s the Difference Between the Sneakers?
The most noticeable difference between the two sneakers are their tongues. On the Nike Dunk, you get a slim, mesh tongue. On the SB Dunk, the tongue has been beefed up to provide more cushion and protection. By being thicker, the tongue helps with the fit as well. It enables the sneaker to mold to your feet, preventing any slipping or wiggling. The tongue is held down with elastic straps which provide an added layer of lockdown. As a bonus, it allows you to slip the SB Dunk on and off without having to mess with finicky laces.
