The Jordan Legacy 312 is a new Jordan shoe designed in collaboration with Don C. It was first released in the Summer of 2018 and combines design elements of the Air Jordan 1, Air Jordan 3, and the Air Alpha Force. These were the three sneakers that Michael Jordan wore early on in his career with the Chicago Bulls.
This low top iteration of the Jordan Legacy 312 comes dressed in a Black leather upper accented by the Red hits on the toe and Swoosh alongside the elephant print noted on the heel overlay with a Grey perforated ankle collar..
The shoe itself combines elements of the Air Jordan 1 and Air Jordan 3 with the strap of the Air Trainer. This iteration of the shoe is heavily inspired by both the “Bred” Air Jordan 1 and “Black Cement” Air Jordan 3. Finishing off the design is its signature AJ3 rubber outsole.
What is the story behind Jordan Legacy 312?
The 312 is a tribute to Chicago that’s equally inspired by MJ and today’s multi-faceted youth. Its name references the 312 area code of the city, as well as the shoe’s juxtaposition of the Air Jordan 1 and 3. “I wanted the Jordan Legacy 312 to have the sole of the Jordan 3, because to me, that shoe is the foundation of the brand”, Don explains. “The 1s and the 2s were Nikes first. The 3s were Jordans. That’s when the brand became the brand. I’ve always felt that the foundation of the brand is the 3, but it was built on the 1 first”.
