The Jordan Legacy 312 Low, crafted by Don C, has a storied heritage that often celebrates Chicago’s rich basketball and street culture through a wide array of vibrant hues. New “Sea Glass” option complementing the grey elephant pattern and the white/silver colorway, Legacy 312 fans have something to look for (or if you’re looking for a pair to sole-swap on some Air Jordan 3s).
This fresh release features an exquisitely composed color scheme, thoughtfully blending varying shades of grey, a crisp white upper, and gentle accents of Seafoam Green. While the smooth white leather is a neutral canvas, the Seafoam Green toe caps, mudguards, and forefoot strap subtly inject color, creating an appealing and unexpected contrast. The grey Swoosh overlays and heel paint provide additional layers of depth to the overall design, maintaining a sense of sophistication without becoming overwhelming.
A nod to its roots, the shoe showcases the iconic Cement Grey elephant prints at the rear, a tribute to the enduring legacy of the Jordan brand. With its intricate detailing and restrained use of color, this version captures the nuanced design elements that have made Jordan sneakers timeless classics.
What is the story behind Jordan Legacy 312?
The 312 is a tribute to Chicago that’s equally inspired by MJ and today’s multi-faceted youth. Its name references the 312 area code of the city, as well as the shoe’s juxtaposition of the Air Jordan 1 and 3. “I wanted the Jordan Legacy 312 to have the sole of the Jordan 3, because to me, that shoe is the foundation of the brand”, Don explains. “The 1s and the 2s were Nikes first. The 3s were Jordans. That’s when the brand became the brand. I’ve always felt that the foundation of the brand is the 3, but it was built on the 1 first”.
