For this collab, the American fashion designer and Converse have revamped the latter’s iconic ‘80s basketball high-top into the TURBOWPN. Of course, the Rick Owens DRKSHDW x Converse TURBOWPN is heavily injected with Owens’ design cues as seen in the exaggerated portions and distorted lines. The result is an elevated take on the basketball silhouette.
On the TURBODRK Chuck 70 Hi, zebra jacquard prints adorn sherpa fleece uppers, replacing the traditional choices of canvas as seen on the previous releases. Equipped with an elongated tongue and squared toe-cap that screams the name of Owens, a distorted aesthetic has been granted to the classic offering of Converse.
On the TURBOWPN, a classic take of black and milk leather panels outfits the spoken silhouette, reflecting an outlook that resembles his all-time signature Geobasket sneaker. Added with pentagon shaped cutouts on the sides, tonal laces completes a versatile look that matches well with any of his apparel offerings.
Last but not least, a range of accessories arrived in the form of Go Lo and Go 2 backpacks, finished in matching prints and materials as found on the TURBODRK Chuck 70 Hi.
Should you buy a size down in Converse?
The Converse website recommends customers size down in their All Star and Chuck 70 silhouettes however we would still recommend staying true to size. Unless you have narrow feet, we don’t recommend sizing down in Converse.
