Air Jordan 4

The Air Jordan 4 was the first shoe in the franchise to go global. With a wide release outside of the United States. The IV also took the Air Jordan brand to another level of fame and pop culture prominence. His Airness famously hit “The Shot” over Craig Ehlo sporting Jordan 4s, and the shoe makes a memorable appearance in Spike Lee’s seminal 1989 film Do the Right Thing and helped the shoe transcend the game of basketball.

In 1989, the Air Jordan 4 — the second Jordan model from legendary Nike designer Tinker Hatfield — debuted in 4 OG colorways. the AJ4 boasted a mid-cut silhouette that came in at a lighter weight to the AJ3. Once again emblazoned by a visible Air unit, the AJ4 digressed aesthetically from the previous Jumpman renditions which favoured lifestyle and luxury characteristics.

Thanks to its perennial popularity, the Air Jordan 4 has inspired many innovative retros, collabs and special editions.
